When Yara first joined Jovi in the United States, they faced many issues. Jovi was accused of being an alcoholic who was addicted to going to the strip club, while Yara was deeply unhappy living in New Orleans. It took Jovi longer than Yara to adjust to being a parent after she found out she was pregnant with baby Mylah. Though viewers thought for some time that Jovi wouldn’t drop his partying lifestyle to be a husband and father, he ended up surprising fans. This led to Jovi and Yara working through their problems to be a happy family of three.

Jovi and Yara both share a love for travel. While Jovi loves New Orleans, Yara noted the city isn't what she is looking for in terms of her home. They are currently on a quest to find their dream city in the United States. Yara appears very eager to get out of Louisiana and leave her trips to New Orleans behind her. One of the cities the couple has been looking at is Dallas, Texas. However, they have yet to confirm their move.
