The Spread Crossbow is the simplest ranged weapon you can get in, with a light attack starting stat compared to other long-distance tools. You can get this weapon from a dead body in a small Messmer camp located near the Ellac Greatbridge. The lower levels of the bridge host enemies you'll have to take down before you can reach the weapon within the camp set up by the soldiers.
While you can't infuse any Ashes of War into this weapon, you can upgrade it with Smithing Stones in up to +25 for extra attack power. This weapon is two crossbows welded into one, firing multiple bolts at the same time across a wide spread as the tool's name suggests. This can help you deal with large crowds of smaller enemies, but the Spread Crossbow may struggle against bulkier opponents.
The Unique Skill of this weapon is the standard Kick attack that sometimes comes standard for many ranged weapons. This simple high kick can break the guard of smaller enemies trying to block with shields.
