17th Anniversary of Leeroy Jenkins Meme Video

The birth of the very first meme, and to this day the most known meme in the history of WoW, happened 17 years ago on this day! The video of Leeroy Jenkins ruining the Upper Blackrock Spire run for his guild, <PALS FOR LIFE>, went live on WarcraftMovies for the first time on May 11th, 2005. Leeroy, to this day, is one of the only WoW memes known by the general internet population, and it has since made appearances in popular media, like as a Jeopardy! question, and being referenced on hit TV series How I Met Your Mother. Leeroy himself has also made multiple appearances through the Blizzard universe:

On WoW, he has the achievements Leeeeeeeeeeeeeroy! and Leeeeeeeeeeeeeroy...?. The latter also gives Leeroy Jenkins as a Garrison follower, and both give the title . In Battle for Azeroth, Leeroy can also be recruited for the Upright Citizens achievement. On Hearthstone, he has his very own card, part of the Classic set: Leeroy Jenkins. On Overwatch, Winston has a rare voice line that refers to the Leeroy meme: «I calculate our percentage of survival at 32.33%… Repeating, of course.»

Leeroy's latest appearance in WoW was the 15th anniversary event, where he sold Leeroy's Spicy Fried Chicken in the Caverns of Time.
