You season 4 premiered a new trailer at Netflix’s TUDUM festival, which revealed that the series will be split into two parts, and also focused on Joe Goldberg’s new identity of Professor Jonathan Moore.
The psychological thriller concluded its third season in spectacular fashion. Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) was single once more following his marriage to Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti), and back on the prowl for the ever-elusive love of his life. The show, which darkly satirizes many romantic comedy tropes, seemed to be returning to basics by having Joe leave his suburban life behind. Just last week, Netflix released the first bloody motion poster for You season 4.

In the new You trailer, which was released on Twitter, Joe (or rather, Jonathan) narrates: “Hello, You,” he says. “I’m not the lovable bookstore manager in New York, or the shop clerk in LA, or the doting husband in the suburbs. No, not anymore…” (referencing his various identities in seasons 1, 2, and 3). The trailer then reveals that Joe has “refined” himself following his emigration across the Atlantic, to London, where he has secured a job as a Professor at an unknown University.
The rest of the trailer focuses on introducing Joe’s new social circle in London, whom he ominously threatens and demeans as they come across screen. Among them is Marienne, who’s the new object of Joe’s affection (old habits die hard). The trailer further reveals that Part 1 of the series will premiere February 10, 2023, while Part 2 will premiere on March 10, 2023, exactly one month later.
Joe’s antics as “Professor Jonathan Moore” will probably be just as murderous as they’ve always been, naturally.
