Xiaomi 12 Ultra could copy Samsung’s Galaxy S22 Ultra in one crucial aspect this year! Last year’s Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra was essentially an answer to Samsung’s Galaxy S21 Ultra, where the same name tag was accompanied by similar set of cameras and most of the same features. It rumoured successor, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra is yet arrive but leaks are suggesting it could take more inspiration from the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s camera system this year. No, it is not going to have a similar quad camera setup; instead it will retain the same one from its predecessor.
Based on a new leaked report from tipster Digital Chat Station, it is said that Xiaomi could be retaining the Mi 11 Ultra’s camera setup. A leaked case image also confirms that the Xiaomi ultra flagship could feature the 120x, 12-120mm, f/1.95-4.1 camera system, which is almost exactly the same as the camera system on the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra also did the same this year, retaining the same set of camera sensors as the Galaxy S21 Ultra.

The Xiaomi 12 Ultra will then likely bring the same camera system we were already familiar with last year. The main rear camera system could have the same 50MP f/2.0 lens with Laser AF and OIS, another 48MP periscope camera with 5X optical zoom, and another 48MP ultra-wide camera.
The new model will skip out on the tiny display that acted as the viewfinder on the Mi 11 Ultra, as is evident from the leaked case image. The camera thump will gain a new shape too — instead of the large rectangle, it will be a large circle with quite some bump.
What remains to be seen is whether the Xiaomi 12 Ultra could offer better photography with its older camera system than the 50MP
