Xenoblade Chronicles 3 gets its latest update which brings the game to version 1.3.0. While the game has been out since July 2022, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has enjoyed continuous success since its release—even getting nominations for Game of the Year from The Game Awards 2022 and the Golden Joystick Awards. However, as with a lot of modern titles, patches are necessary to balance and improve the in-game mechanics to make for a smooth and enjoyable experience.
The last major patch to be released for Xenoblade Chronicles 3 was 1.2.0 which added compatibility for Expansion Pass 2 as well as changing some in-game specs. With Expansion Pass 3 having been made available on February 15, 2023, it only makes sense to have an accompanying update to enable the contents that the DLC will provide. Not only that, but with each new DLC that launches, it's possible that other issues may arise and trigger bugs within the game.

Gamers who've purchased the third wave of DLC will be able to utilize it in-game—giving them access to new outfits, a new hero, and the Challenge Battle mode.
