Despite having a flying command centre, you're still a scrappy rebellion force. You’ll be outnumbered and outgunned in almost every mission. This means ending fights quickly and decisively before enemy reinforcements arrive is crucial.
The fewer guns pointing at your squad, the less damage they’ll take, so focus on getting kills rather than injuring as many foes as possible. As many of XCOM 2’s missions are timed,you’ll need to keep moving towards the objective if you want to be successful.
Flank enemies to get those big critical hits, whilst pushing as a team so you don’t leave anyone too far behind. Use concealment to scout enemy pods and take them out one at a time, instead of fighting the entire map at once. By taking a proactive approach, you can take fights on your terms, forcing the enemy to play by your rules.
