Subscription service Xbox Game Pass brought in over $2.9 billion in revenue during 2021.
That's according to data released by Brazilian competition authority CADE – spotted by TweakTown – which indicates that the platform generated almost $3 billion last year. That's not the entire picture, too. The above figure is only for console revenue, leaving out PC.
The amount of money generated by Xbox Game Pass is actually around 18 per cent of the total $16.28 billion that Microsoft's games business made last year and roughly 30 per cent of the company's games and service income ($12.6 billion).
At last official count in January of this year, Game Pass boasted 25 million subscribers.
The service's revenue figures came out following CADE's investigation into Microsoft's proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
