Wednesday's ID@Xbox Showcase event went off swimmingly, with several new game announcements, surprise reveals, and all of it confirmed to be coming to Xbox Game Pass. Both Tunic and Paradise Killer, which launched today, were revealed to be Xbox Game Pass Day One releases. But in addition to those two now-available games, Xbox also revealed seven additional indie games that will each be coming to Xbox Game Pass in 2022.
To start, there were two brand-new indie games announced during the show that are already confirmed to be Day One releases for Xbox Game Pass. The first is a new game from auteur Sam Barlow named Immortality. Barlow's known for games including Telling Lies and Her Story that feature live-action footage and Immortality will be no different. The second game is named Escape Academy and as its name implies, it's a first-person escape room experience. It's also confirmed to support two-player online co-op.
Xbox Game Pass Surprises Launches 2 New Day One Indie Games
In addition to the two newly announced games, there are five previously announced indie games that are now confirmed to be Xbox Game Pass releases for 2022. To start, there is a trio of games coming from publisher Fellow Traveler, who also launched Paradise Killer on Xbox consoles and Game Pass today. Those three games are magical school sim Kraken Academy, adventure game Beacon Pines which is equal parts cute and creepy, and sci-fi narrative RPG Citizen Sleeper. Kraken Academy arrives March 22, with the two others' release dates TBD.
That leaves two more games coming to Xbox Game Pass in 2022. The first is cybernoir adventure game Chinatown Detective Agency from Humble Games, with a release date TBD, and Floppy Knights.Floppy Knights mixes tactics
