The X-Men's Quiet Council needs a new leader to replace Magneto — and here are the top candidates. For decades, Magneto has secretly been part of a conspiracy involving Professor X and Moira MacTaggert. He has transformed himself into something of an elder statesman, one of Krakoa's greatest champions.
But changes are coming to Krakoa. Magneto will leave Krakoa's ruling Quiet Council at the beginning of the upcoming «Destiny of X» era, and variant covers seem to suggest he'll part ways with the island's rulers under bitter circumstances. There's a certain irony to Magneto's departure, because the Quiet Council had only just settled into a new status quo, welcoming Destiny and Colossus — the latter being under the mental control of a Russian mutant who's working to undermine Krakoa.
