Blizzard Entertainment recently confirmed that it is making changes to the Solo Shuffle PvP Brawl system that will likely balance the player versus player experience in such Brawls. World of Warcraft will be scaling players with extremely low item levels to item level 239 in order to combat issues that make some players significantly more powerful than others depending on the gear they have. These adjustments to the PvP Brawl system are being made based on fan feedback, which suggests that many players who were struggling to enjoy the PvP Brawls will have a better chance at competing with higher item level players.

Because there are still many World of Warcraft PvP players who have gear that exceeds item level 239, these items won't be affected by the scaling affecting lower item level players in the near future. The item level upgrades coming for lesser geared World of Warcraft players is specific to those queuing for Solo Shuffle Brawl, so players doing Battlegrounds or Arena will be unscathed by the anticipated patch. Some World of Warcraft fans have suggested that item level 239 still isn't high enough as some players are still well above that, but these changes should make queuing for Brawl's less intimidating for lesser geared players.
