Another Wordle is primed and ready for players to guess, and the May 17th one could certainly cause some trouble depending on what starting word is used. Wordle is a once-a-day word guessing game that has players solve a single five-letter word within six guesses. With each answer attempted the game will give clues in the form of highlighted letters. A green highlight means the letter is correct, yellow means correct letter but incorrect placement, and grey means the letter doesn't belong in the answer at all. This classic hint system was popularized by older games like Mastermind which used a system of colored pegs to provide hints to a number sequence.

Today's Wordle is actually a very common word that is used often, but many times the common words can cause the most trouble. With very common five-letter word endings like 'ER', 'ED', or 'ING' it's easy to take multiple guesses at an answer and be incorrect each time. This is where the psychology of a Wordle word being easier if the player knows it's hard comes from. Less common beginnings or endings can make it easier to break down the answer with previous clues. If players want the game to be even more of a challenge they can also turn on the Hard Mode that the game provides in the options menu.
