Witcher 3 Next-Gen Version Delayed
The Witcher's IP has amassed a brand-new audience in its Netflix series, and has claimed the attention of its dedicated fans with the announcement of a new installment in its video game franchise. To perpetuate this impact and allow even more prospective fans to play it with enhanced visual updates, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was announced to receive PS5 and Xbox Series X/S upgrades.
Indeed, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's success and significance are not understated as a seminal open-world action-RPG. In October of last year, the game's next-gen upgrade was reportedly slated for a Q2 2022 release. This meant that players could have expected it to release anytime between now and the end of June. Unfortunately, the wait for these next-gen upgrades will now be longer than fans had anticipated.

CD Projekt Red has announced that its next-gen versions of the game need to be delayed from their previous release windows. The reason that CD Projekt Red offers for this delay is that its «in-house development team» will be finishing up the work that is left on these versions, and therefore they are «evaluating the scope of work to be done.» CD Projekt Red's brief statement at least mentions a reasonable cause for the delay, which may help to smooth out fans' reception to this news.
It sounds as if work is nearly complete anyhow, so it may not be as terrible a wait as fans may imagine. Besides, as any gamer knows, a delayed game is better than a rushed game. It is unfortunate that players will not have their hands on it sooner, but if the delay results in a better product then fans will be all the more pleased with it when it does eventually release.
