Robert Englund has addressed whether he would return as Stranger Things' Victor Creel in the series' future, offering his thoughts on Victor's fate. The A Nightmare On Elm Street icon starred as the scarred man imprisoned for the murder of his family in season 4 of the Netflix series. Volume 2 of Stranger Things season 4 will release on July 1st, 2022.
In Stranger Things season 4, Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer) comes across the horrific tale of Victor Creel when investigating the gruesome, mysterious death of Chrissie Cunningham (Grace Van Dien). Creel (Englund) was imprisoned for the murders of his family in their home in 1959, but the distraught father claimed a demon was responsible. Nancy and Robin Buckley (Maya Hawke) would later visit the imprisoned Creel in Pennhurst Asylum, learning Creel's perspective as he told the pair of his ordeal with Vecna. Nancy would later learn the truth directly from Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower), as he revealed that not only was he Victor's son, Henry, but he was responsible for his family's murders. While Victor is still imprisoned, Englund has shared his thoughts on Creel's fate.

In an interview with Cinemablend, Englund admitted that he was unsure of Victor's fate, but offered his perspective on how Victor could return. The actor stated that when he watched the entirety of the season, he noticed that Vecna mentioned revisiting his father in his encounter with Nancy. While Englund wasn't sure if the reference was to solidify the connection between Vecna and Victor, he suggested the villain may return to finally kill his father as a form of vengeance.
