Previous console generations have moved on pretty fast, with developers and publishers not waiting all that long to start developing games exclusively for new platforms. This latest console generation is an exception to that rule, as developers have worked to make their games available both for older hardware and the new platforms. As a result, there haven't been many games released exclusively for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X, with most titles launching as cross-gen games.
This is of course reflected with the Xbox Game Pass lineup in any given month, with the vast majority of games available for both Xbox One and Xbox Series X. There have been a few exceptions, like when The Medium released as a day one Xbox Game Pass game and an Xbox Series X console exclusive, but they have been few and far between. However, the new Xbox Game Pass games for March 2022 have included another title that's only available on Xbox Series X and not Xbox One and will soon add another.
2 More Games Confirmed for Game Pass
On March 17, Xbox Game Pass added day one snowboarding game Shredders to its lineup of titles. Shredders is an Xbox Series X console exclusive, one of the few that are available at the time of this writing. While it would be great if Xbox One owners could get in on the action as well, having games only available for Xbox Series X and not Xbox One adds value to the new console and means developers can better take advantage of its superior hardware.
