The sci-fi series is set all over the USA, but where was Debris actually filmed? Producer, screenwriter and director J.H. Wyman cut his television teeth working on J.J. Abrams’ sci-fi procedural series Fringe and – when the show was canceled after five seasons – went on to spearhead his very own show in the form of fellow Fox show and sci-fi crime drama Almost Human. Wyman recently made a return to the TV sci-fi genre when he created the X-Files-inspired Debris.
This series follows American CIA operative Bryan Beneventi (played by Jonathan Tucker, Snowfall) and British MI6 agent Finola Jones (Riann Steele, The Magicians) as they join forces to investigate a series of strange incidents that occur after wreckage from an alien spacecraft starts falling to Earth. The mismatched duo race to track down the various debris from the spaceship that has scattered across the USA before it can fall into the hands of those who intend to use it for nefarious ends.

The premise of Debris means that the show has multiple settings. The pilot episode, for example, sees agents Beneventi and Finola Jones travel to Wichita, Kansas to investigate the mysterious disappearance of several people in a case with ties to a large piece of spacecraft wreckage. The sophomore episode“You Are Not Alone”, meanwhile, saw the duo investigate strange occurrences in the small town of Fleetwood, Pennsylvania. Other episodes have been set in rural Tennessee, New York City and coastal Maine – but where did Debris film? It might be set in various locations across the USA, but Debris was actually filmed mostly in and around Vancouver, Canada.
