The vampires are returning as FX renews What We Do in the Shadows for seasons 5 and 6. Following the critical success of Taika Waititi and Jermaine Clement's vampire mockumentary movie of the same name, there were plenty of discussions about how that universe could live on. The vampire story continued in a new way thanks to the What We Do in the Shadows show that debuted in 2019. Like the original movie, the series focuses on a group of vampires living in New York. What We Do in the Shadows has earned great acclaim throughout the first three seasons on FX.
The network is currently gearing up for the release of What We Do in the Shadows season 4, which returns the lovable quartet of vampires Laszlo (Matt Berry), Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), Nandor (Kayvan Novak), and Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch) — along with their human familiar Guillermo (Harvey Guillen). The story picks up after the unexpected turns of the season 3 finale, which included Colin Robinson returning as a baby and the group splitting up. In many ways, What We Do in the Shadows' season 3 ending left audiences wondering what the future held for the show, even though a fourth season was already announced.

It has now been confirmed that the series and these characters are not going anywhere anytime soon. FX officially announced today the renewal of What We Do in the Shadows seasons 5 and 6. The news comes roughly a month before season 4 launches on FX and comes to Hulu the following day. The What We Do in the Shadows renewal comes with word that the series will soon come to Star+ in Latin America and Disney+ under the Star banner in all other territories that FX and Hulu are not
