With God of War, Santa Monica took a beloved franchise and re-imagined it. Kratos was removed from Greek mythology and thrown into the equally complex world of Norse mythology. The biggest change was the inclusion of Kratos' son, Atreus, who accompanies Kratos and helps him with the enemies they face and the environmental puzzles they must overcome. God of War: Ragnarok was originally slated to release in 2021, but it faced delays and is now supposed to hit shelves in 2022. Most notably, Kratos and Atreus find themselves sleighing over icy landscapes as they explore at least one frozen realm. For players looking forward to God of War: Ragnarok, there is plenty to expect in 2022.
