Zack Snyder's upcoming sci-fi world-builder Rebel Moon might reveal something key to the story in its title. The interplanetary story of Rebel Moon focuses on a colony in a distant galaxy under attack by the conquering legions of Regent Balisarius (Ed Skrein). As one of Snyder's Netflix projects, Rebel Moon's story will also unfold as a two-part movie.
Sofia Boutella portrays Rebel Moon's heroine Kora, who sets about recruiting warriors from other worlds to help defend her people. While Kora's exact battle plan won't be known until closer to the release of the first of the two movies, Rebel Moon might hint that Kora and her allies might intend to coordinate their efforts away from their home turf. The title itself could suggest that they form a stronghold against Balisarius on a moon near Kora's homeworld.

With the description of the large-scale war and different alien characters of Rebel Moon, Kora and her assembled defenders are up against extremely challenging odds in the army commanded by Balisarius. Picking an outpost such as a neighboring moon could provide a base camp with many tactical advantages for Kora's forces. For one, an environment such as a moon is not one Balisarius is likely to devote much attention to, allowing the resistance against him to form their battle plans undetected. There is also the inverse possibility that Kora might hope to draw attention away from her home planet and to the resistance force, she's assembled.
