Marta and Daya even had different religious backgrounds, and Daya was pushing Marta to convert from Catholicism to his religion of Islam. The situation caused a rift between the couple, and Daya stopped replying frequently. The Milwaukee native then planned to visit Daya in Algeria for two weeks.
