What is Snuffling? Earn Toys, Pets, and Treasure in The Ringing Deeps
Among the many innocuous activities in The War Within, collecting wax is a time honored Kobold tradition, which you too can dig up and trade for fun and profit. It's not junk, it's treasuuuuure!
It goes like this. Upon unlocking Snuffling at Renown level 2 with The Assembly of the Deeps, which should happen very early in the initial zone questing and exploration, players will be able to interact with some of the Kobolds found around Gundgargaz and see purple outlined Disturbed Earth throughout all zones in Khaz Algar.
- Digging up patches of Disturbed Earth will spawn a short mini-game or mob, awarding various amounts of Odd Glob of Wax.
- 5x Odd Glob of Wax is turned into Middles 10 times to fill up the Wax Contribution progress bar, earning a Firelight Ruby.
- Firelight Ruby is traded to Gnawbles for various pets, toys, and more.
Each item requires one Firelight Ruby, and can be purchased multiple times.
Now, these purchased items are supposed to be unlocked over time. Initially, there was a Community Contribution bar alongside the personal progress, and with enough wax contributed across the game region, a new purchase would be unlocked in Gnawbles store. However, it seems the amounts required were less than Blizzard anticipated, as all 12 purchases have already been unlocked! Interestingly, two of the items which were present on the vendor last week are no longer sold though: the Wax-Sealed Pouch and Wax Arsenal both awarded low amounts of gold, and so they have simply been removed due to being redundant next to the superior Wax-Sealed Box.
