Westworld co-creator Lisa Joy teases what the rest of season 4 holds after that major twist in episode 4. Created by Joy and Jonathan Nolan, the HBO sci-fi drama series is based on Michael Crichton's 1973 film of the same name. Throughout the season, the show has been following three plotlines: Caleb (Paul) and Maeve's (Newton) investigation leading to the newest Golden Age park, Bernard's (Wright) quest to save the world, and Christina's (Wood) life as a writer. All of these appeared to be happening at the same time. Westworld season 4, episode 4, «Generation Loss» flipped this assumption by revealing that Hale (Thompson) had already enacted her plan to enslave humanity using parasitic flies, and that Caleb and Maeve had died 23 years ago. Caleb was stuck in a «fidelity» cycle as Hale's test subject, and Maeve's body was the weapon Bernard and Stubbs (Hemsworth) uncovered in the desert with Caleb's adult daughter, the rebel C (Aurora Perrineau). This stunning timeline reveal left viewers wondering what the next four episodes will bring.
