Hot on the heels of the game’s announcement last week, EA has now released a gameplay deep dive video for EA Sports FC 24, the successor to the long-running FIFA game series.
EA Sports FC 24 builds on the legacy of those FIFA games, featuring the latest generation of Frostbite engine for the game’s graphics and Sapien technology (just like Madden 24), and incorporating new and improved tech like HyperMotionV and PlayStyles optimised by Opta.
HyperMotionV uses “volumetric” data that’s drawn from over 180 football matches across both the men’s and women’s game to influence player movements in-game, both individually for signature running styles, and as a whole team to capture the distinctive tactical approaches that different teams employ. EA has been building more and more live game capture in recent years, but they’ve now been able to capture more real competitive matches from video capture, so Erling Haaland’s iconic aerial goal against Dortmund is fully captured in-game, distinctive penalty run-ups and more. there’s over 1200 signature run styles in the game.
Meanwhile PlayStyles taps into the football statistics resource of Opta to influence how players act and actually perform in-game, so to use Haaland again, the power of his shooting is right up there to match the statistical performance from reality, as opposed to more human guesses that we used to have. There’s 34 new playstyles in the game to match player characteristics and strengths.
EA Sports FC 24 is coming out 28th August 2023 across PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, as well as PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
