Warhammer fans were treated to a behind-the-scenes video showing Saber Interactive’s upcoming Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, showcasing more on the game's Angels of Death. This special backstage interview comes courtesy of the Warhammer Skulls: Festival of Video Games 2022 event. Other notable announcements of the Festival included the announcement of Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader from Pathfinder RPG developer, Owlcat.
Based on the iconic tabletop miniatures wargame, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is a third-person shooter, hack-and-slash series set in the Grim Dark Future of Warhammer 40k. In 2011’s Space Marine, the player assumes control of Ultramarine Lieutenant Titus and utilized a combination of futuristic melee and ranged weaponry to combat the multitude of alien threats to the Imperium of Man. Now in Space Marine 2, Titus finds himself not only newly upgraded to a Primaris Space Marine and promoted to captain but also pitted against the parasitic swarm of the Tyranid Hive Mind, a monstrous insectoid species driven purely by predatory instinct. While little gameplay has been shown since its reveal at the 2021 Game Awards, Space Marine 2 looks to offer the same melee and ranged hybrid action as its predecessor.

Focus Entertainment published the 'Foundations of War' featurette to YouTube, giving Warhammer fans a special, behind-the-scenes look at the philosophy of making Space Marine 2. The video features Clive Standen of TV's Vikings bringing to life the Angel of Death himself, Captain Titus.
