Bulwark Studios and Kasedo Games unveiled the sequel to 2020’s turn-based tactical Warhammer 40K game, Warhammer 40K Mechanicus at this year’s Warhammer Skulls Showcase.
Warhammer 40K: Mechanicus 2 will see the addition of the Necrons as a playable faction alongside the Adeptus Mechanics tech priests of Mars. Following a millennia of slumber, Vargard Nefershah seeks to destroy the Adeptus Mechanics who have invaded her world. Across the stars, Magos Dominus Faustinius of the Adeptus Mechanics is determined to not allow the Necrons to succeed.
The game will feature two narrative campaigns from both perspectives of the conflict. The differences don’t end with the narrative, either. The Necrons and Adeptus Mechanics factions will also feature unique abilities and playstyles for players to learn and master.
Cover plays a pivotal role in the game’s combat mechanics, though even here things differ greatly between factions. The Mechanicus will need to plan their movements around the battlefield to take advantage of cover while the Necros are experts at destroying it.
Warhammer 40K: Mechanicus 2 will release on the PC via Steam or Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. A release date has not been announced at this time. Players looking to keep up with updates can wishlist the game now.
