Walmart is set to offer a solution to all those home DIY jobs you've been putting off by offering to do them for you through a new partnership with Angi.
As TechCrunch reports, Walmart is expanding the range of home services it offers by adding over 150 common home projects to the available services. These projects include such things as flooring, painting, plumbing, electrical, TV mounting, as well as installation and assembly services for furniture. They will all be carried out by a trained professional and backed by a guarantee covering up to the purchase price.
Walmart had an existing home services relationship for installations and assembly with a company called Handy. However, Handy was acquired by Angi Homeservices, which is now known simply as Angi, and that existing relationship is expanding to include many more services.
Angi shared pricing for furnitue assembly, which starts at $49, and TV mounting, which is $79, but as the new services being offered are currently classed as "coming soon," so is the pricing for them it seems. For large projects, such as painting or flooring, Angi assigns a dedicated project supervisor who will provide a quote, find a professional to carry out the work (Angi has over 250,000 professionals in its network), and be available during the whole project.
Walmart will be introducing these new home services at nearly 4,000 Walmart stores spread across all 50 states. You'll be able to order them in-store, or when available, a dedicated Angi landing page being added to Walmart.com.
