PC giant Valve has started a beta test for a brand new version of its Steam app.
In a post on its website, the company said that it had updated the app for a new framework and to modernise the design. The initial version launched back in 2015 and was primarily a way for people to use the Steam Guard two factor authentication functionality.
The new app also allows users to sign in using a QR code, has "smarter" notifications, an improved library and support for multiple accounts.
"The sooner we get your feedback on a product, the better. So when we’re far enough along, we ask invested Steam users to try something out and provide feedback," Valve wrote.
"This helps us test our assumptions, learn what you like and don’t like, and find things that need to be fixed. This is especially important when the app can be used on so many different phones and devices."
