Upcoming Square Enix's action-RPG Valkyrie Elysium is getting a playable demo ahead of its public release later this month. First announced at the PlayStation State of Play event last March, Valkyrie Elysium looks to bring back the charm of the long-forgotten JRPG series that started with Valkyrie Profile in 1999, this time in a more modern package that eschews the series' tactics-based gameplay.
Prior to this, Square Enix had already announced the official release dates of Valkyrie Elysium, which might differ depending on which platform players will play the game on. Valkyrie Elysium is set to launch first on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on September 29, while the PC version will follow on November 11. In the meantime, though, PlayStation users will get the chance to familiarize themselves with Valkyrie Elysium ahead of its release as Square Enix is launching a demo version via the PlayStation Network.
Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth Port Coming This September
Per the info on the PlayStation Store, the demo version of Valkyrie Elysium will be available on September 15, allowing players to enjoy the first chapter of the game. To make it more convenient for players, Square Enix is also allowing them to transfer the save data from the demo version to the retail version. This means that players can get to know some of the characters in Valkyrie Elysium, and then continue their progress come September 29.
While it technically serves as the latest entry in the Valkyrie series, Valkyrie Elysium isn't a sequel to any of the previous games.
