One of the first bosses Vampire adventurers will encounter on their journey in V Rising is the Alpha Wolf, a Level 16 V Blood Carrier whose defeat rewards victors with the Vampire Power, Wolf Form. As its name implies, this Vampire Power transforms its caster into a wolf, a four-legged lupine creature that can move 45% faster than the Vampire's default humanoid form. This effect of this Vampire Power in V Rising will last indefinitely until the user turns back into a Vampire or takes damage. Accordingly, the main utility of Wolf Form is to be a means of faster traversal than by foot. However, this form is not quicker than horseback riding.
The Alpha Wolf is a roaming boss, meaning it does not remain stationary in a single location in V Rising. However, the Carrier does wander only within a particular radius in the starting region of Farbane Woods. First, players should note that the Alpha Wolf can spawn at one of three Wolf Dens. One is located south of the Forgotten Cemetery, another is south of the Bandit Logging Camp, and a third is west of the region's southernmost Bandit Encampment.

Therefore, the Alpha Wolf will only roam along the roads connecting the three Wolf Dens of Farbane Woods in V Rising. Together, these landmarks form somewhat of a triangle shape on the map, with the Cave Passage Exit from Dunley Farmlands as its center. To find exactly where the Alpha Wolf is, Vampire adventurers must use the Blood Altar, a boss-tracking Castle Structure that becomes available during the main campaign's Journal Questline.
