will air the finale on. The series follows the journey of a CODA (child of deaf adult) student going back in time and meeting a few high school students to form a band called Watermelon Sugar. He also takes on a mission to set some things right in order for his parents to be together.
Episode 16 of Twinkling Watermelon will see Eun-Gyeol’s () return to the present and reunion with his parents in 2023. However, given the current circumstances with Yi Chan’s () accident, there is also a chance that he won’t able to make it in time and will choose to stay in the past with Yi Chan and the band.

The final episode of Twinkling Watermelon will follow the aftermath of Yi Chan’s accident. Despite Eun-Gyeol’s best efforts to collaborate with Eun-Yu () and avoid his father’s accident, he becomes the sole reason for the accident. Yi Chan met with this unfortunate incident only because he saved Eun-Gyeol from being hit by the car. Yi Chan now risks losing his hearing abilities, which was one of the main reasons for Eun-Gyeol’s time travel.
The official trailer of episode 16 gives some context to viewers about what to expect. While Yi Chan is admitted in the hospital, Eun-Gyeol is devastated at the turn of events and his failure to protect his father. He also receives a call from the Master, who tells him that he has only one day left before he can return to the present. However, Eun-Gyeol doesn’t want to leave his injured father in the hospital.
The Master then expresses that if Eun-Gyeol doesn’t arrive in the same place he time traveled to in the past, he would risk losing the present and the future. His life in 2023, i.e., the present, would disappear, and so would the chance
