Dungeon crawling ARPGs are great, but they’re even better when they’re about root vegetables that have committed fraud. Which is why you should be excited that Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion is launching next month.
The game sees you playing the titular turnip, who’s been evicted from his house for not paying his taxes to the mayor. The mayor is an onion. Cue lots of action and adventure as you try and get the cash you need to pay off your debt.
Turnip Boy is a bit of a menace to society, so you can expect plenty of petty crime alongside the usual hacking, slashing and puzzle solving. Here’s a trailer to give you an idea of what to expect.
There are massive beasts to fight, a garden to tend to grow plants that’ll help you in your adventure, and a whole cast of food-based characters to get to know.
You’ve got multiple endings to unlock depending on your success – or otherwise – in avoiding taxes, and loads more besides. Basically there’s a whole bundle of silly goodness here and it might end up with you bringing down a government.
Pre-registrations for Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion are live on the Play Store right now, and you can click here to make use of them. The game is set to land on May 24th, and when it does it’ll be free-to-start with an IAP to unlock the rest of the experience.
