Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is poised to be one of this summer's biggest blockbusters, and a new TV spot for the movie arrived during the Super Bowl 57 broadcast on Sunday. The commercial focuses on a new Autobot, Mirage, who transforms from a Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.8. He is voiced by Pete Davidson.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts introduces new Transformers to the movie universe, including the Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons, who join in the fight on Earth with the Autobots and Decepticons.
Rise of the Beasts was pushed back by a year due to the pandemic and is now slated to hit theaters on June 9, 2023. Michael Bay, who directed five Transformers movies dating back to 2007, is a producer on the new film, which is directed by Steven Caple Jr (Creed II).
Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback, and Michelle Yeoh star in Rise of the Beasts. The franchise is based on the Hasbro line of toys.
The Transformers movie series has been dormant for a few years. The latest entry was 2018's prequel, Bumblebee, starring Hailee Steinfeld. In total, the Transformers franchise has minted $4.8 billion worldwide at the box office, making it one of the biggest movie franchises in history.
