Emily Hahn, the voice actor behind Bonnie in Toy Story 3, reveals that she didn't know Andy was giving away his toys at the end. After more than a decade, Pixar's beloved Toy Story series returned with Toy Story 3 in 2010. The franchise's original film, Toy Story, made movie history by being the first completely CGI-animated feature-length film, and its colorful characters and heartwarming story laid the groundwork for one of the most popular movie franchises of all time. Both Toy Story and Toy Story 2 received critical acclaim upon their premieres, so expectations for Toy Story 3 were unusually high.
Still, even with the bar set so high, Toy Story 3 did not disappoint. Not only did the Pixar movie exceed expectations with its critical reception, but it also managed to shock audiences with its bittersweet ending. At the end of Toy Story 3, after Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz (Tim Allen), and the rest of the toys had fought so hard to return to their kid, Andy (John Morris), he decided to give his toys to Bonnie (Hahn), including Woody. Although in Bonnie's hands the toys would continue to be played with, audiences were surprised that Andy would ever give up Woody, and they were not the only ones.

Hahn reveals in a recent TikTok that she didn't know Andy would be giving his toys to Bonnie until she watched it in the theater herself. She goes on to explain that, while voicing Bonnie in Toy Story 3, she was not given a full script. Instead, her lines were fed to her individually out of context. As a result, Hahn was completely taken by surprise by the ending scene, even though she helped make it. Click the link below the image to view Hahn's full video:
