You can do so one by one or group multiple contacts together and then delete them. If your contacts are backed up via email or iCloud, you can simply turn the contact visibility off without losing them forever. But if you still wish to delete them, here's how you can do it.
Open the Contacts app and find the contacts you want to delete.
Use two fingers to select one contact and drag up or down to select more than one contact to delete. The selected contacts will be highlighted.
Once you’ve selected all the contacts, long press on the highlighted contacts and a menu will pop-up with multiple options like Copy, Share, Merge or Delete the contacts. Tap on Delete to erase them.
