It’s PAX East time, which means new gameplay and premieres from developers big and small. One of the most exciting happenings for ’80s fans is the news surrounding . Not only has IGN secured 11 minutes of gameplay from the retro-styled brawler, but the outlet has confirmed that the voice actors from the original cartoon are coming back to provide their authentic take on the heroes in a half shell.
As shown in the gameplay video, Cam Clarke, Townsend Coleman, Barry Gordon, and Rob Paulsen are reprising their roles as Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael, respectively. The four voiced the Turtles in the 1987 animated series.
Those who’ve consumed all 10 seasons of that classic cartoon will recognize plenty of locations and characters in the first two levels. Each stage starts with an episode introduction that is a direct reference to the cartoon, complete with pun-filled titles. The Turtles take on Bebop and Rocksteady in boss fights as they fight their way through a Channel 6 news building overrun by the Foot Clan. Bumbling cameraman Vernon Fenwick also appears as a hostage in the footage, trading in April’s usual role since she’s one of the game’s six playable characters this time around.
Developer Tribute Games also confirmed that will have a physical release for old school types who can’t give up on discs. Turtle fans can pick up the game on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch starting this summer and unleash the Turtle Power with up to three friends in co-op.
