When redeemed, SHiFT codes grant the player special items known as Skeleton Keys, which can be used to unlock the special loot chest in the center of the game’s Brighthoof hub area. By using this chest, adventuring Fatemakers with a high Loot Luck stat can even earn some of Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands’ top-tier Legendary loot to aid them on their journey.
Many games developed and published by Gearbox Software feature SHiFT codes, with previous entries in the Borderlands franchise such as Borderlands 2 making use of the feature. SHiFT codes are typically found outside the game and are redeemed on Gearbox’s dedicated SHiFT website or in-game for special keys.
