Mobvoi's new TicWatch GTH Pro might look like any other smartwatch or fitness tracker, but it boasts advanced heart-monitoring features not available on products from the competition, especially those in the sub-$100 category. Here is how it fares against Zepp Health's Amazfit Bip U Pro which has a similar design and is feature-packed as well.
Mobvoi and Zepp Health (formerly Huami) might be different companies but have a lot in common. Not only are they both headquartered in China and heavily invested in wearables with their TicWatch and Amazfit brands, but they also make treadmills and audio products. Mobvoi has multiple earbuds sold under the Ticpods brand, while Zepp Health's earbuds which boast built-in health-tracking features are sold under the Amazfit brand.

The TicWatch GTH Pro and the Amazfit Bip U Pro share a similar design. They both have square dials, but the TicWatch sports a metal case while the Bip U Pro settles for a polycarbonate one. The material used for the straps is also different — TPU on the TicWatch and silicon rubber on the Amazfit — but they are both 20mm in size and replaceable. The Amazfit Bip U Pro measures 40.9 × 35.5 × 11.4 mm and comes in Black, Green, and Pink colorways, while the TicWatch GTH Pro's dimensions are 43.2 × 35.2 × 10.5 mm and it is available only in Black.
The TicWatch GTH Pro has a 1.55-inch display. It has two PPG sensors — one underneath and another on the side — which allow it to measure more than just the heart rate.
