In a since-deleted TikTok, The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On star Rae Williams explained her choice to take back the ultimatum she gave to her boyfriend, Zay Wilson. When the two arrived for filming, Rae was positive she wanted to marry Zay and brought him on the show to push him to realize he wanted to marry her as well. A big issue in their relationship was that he felt his girlfriend had a difficult time opening up to him. She recently graduated from college and was ready to move on to the next steps of her life path, which for her meant marriage and children.
Rae hoped The Ultimatum would bring her closer to Zay and that spending time with another person would help her appreciate the qualities she loves about her boyfriend. Unfortunately, Rae made an immediate connection with Jake Cunningham and, towards the end of the season, had a huge falling-out with Zay. After the three weeks of living with a new partner were up, Zay reunited with Rae and told her that the experience made him realize he was ready to marry her. While she was the one who initially pushed for marriage, she admitted to her boyfriend that she actually wasn't ready for marriage. The disagreement led to Zay going out and partying until 8 a.m., which then prompted Rae to break up with him when he returned back the following morning.
