The Super Bowl ad for The Super Mario Bros movie features a new rendition of the theme music from The Super Mario Bros Super Show.
The 1989 Saturday morning cartoon was well-loved for its intro theme, a rap about the Mario Bros and their plumbing abilities.
Now the rap has been brought back, and will seemingly be used in the movie as a jingle used by Mario and Luigi in a TV ad for their plumbing business.
The Super Bowl ad can be seen below:
The ad also includes a link to a fully functional website which is designed to look like the site for the Super Mario Bros Plumbing business.
The site includes the ad, as well as testimonials from customers. One ‘customer’ is Spike, the foreman from NES Mario spin-off Wrecking Crew, who has been confirmed to appear in the movie.
Spike appears to be an antagonist in the film, as his testimonial claims: “There’s no loyalty with Mario and Luigi! The subpar Mario Bros used to work for me until they decided to break off and start their own business – they’ll learn their lesson someday.”

The Super Mario Bros Movie’s first trailer was revealed in October 2022 and gave fans the first chance to hear Chris Pratt as the voice of Mario.
The second trailer followed a month later and showcased the voices of Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy) and Luigi (Charlie Day) for the first time. It also showed a racing scene inspired by Mario Kart.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie is due to be released in North America on April 7, and will arrive in the UK on March 30.
