EA is constantly coming out with new ways for players to experience The Sims 4. From scenarios, which were introduced in late 2021, to the option to play with a Sims' genetics in order to create twins or other family members, the Create-A-Sim menu has gone through several upgrades since the game's release in 2014. Expansion and game packs have gone even further when it comes to increasing the sheer variety of customization available in the process. Most notably, several different types of occult Sims have been introduced to the game over the last few years. Vampires, mermaids, and werewolves are just a few of the playable Sims that fans can now choose from in The Sims 4.
When it was first released, The Sims 4 was criticized for missing features. Many players claimed that it was bare-bones compared to the rest of the series, and took several steps back compared to its predecessor The Sims 3 in particular. Since then, however, the base game has gone through dozens of patches and multiple stuff, game, and expansion packs have helped buildThe Sims 4 into something worth devoting hours' worth of playtime too. EA's rapid-fire release schedule for The Sims 4 doesn't leave the game feeling stale for long periods of time, either. The latest game pack, Werewolves, came out in June 2022 and, just one year later in July 2023, the High School Years Sims 4 expansion is set to release.
