All eyes have been on Square Enix lately, for the seemingly odd deal it struck with Embracer Group, selling it Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal, and more. But, nonetheless, Square Enix is continuing its work with a plethora of games in development. One fans have been waiting to hear about is Final Fantasy 16.
Since Final Fantasy 16’s initial reveal, the developer has been quiet. No doubt the pandemic took its toll on development, but fans were promised more information this spring. With spring here, it seems like it could be any day now that fans learn more, and according to Final Fantasy 16 producer Yoshi-P, a new trailer is ready and waiting in the wings.
Final Fantasy 16 May Be Breaking One Longstanding Tradition
Yoshi-P appeared on a recent NieR Re[in]carnation stream and spoke briefly about Final Fantasy 16. He mentioned that the dev team has spent a long time polishing the game and will continue to do so until release, also adding that the game is pretty much complete. This lines up with previous comments aboutFinal Fantasy 16’s development status, but it also poses the question of why fans haven’t learned more yet.
Well, that information is ready. Yoshi-P confirmed that the next Final Fantasy 16 trailer is done, but there’s a slight catch. Unspecified factors have caused this trailer’s release to be delayed, meaning that it was likely supposed to be out already. This could be something like a PlayStation State of Play plan being worked on or minor issues in the communication chain, but it’s ready. It’s just a matter of releasing it.
Despite this delay, and to be clear, it seems as if the trailer was already delayed and not that it will be delayed, Yoshi-P does believe that this Final Fantasy 16 trailer will release
