The video begins with Perkins, as he gifts the audience a sneak peak of The Monkey, which he describes as a “pretty dark but a lot of fun” adaptation of Stephen King’s 1980 short story of the same name. The clip shows one of the film’s brutal killing sequences involving a woman who “accidentally” pierces her face with Christmas decorations.
The Monkey is written and directed by Osgood Perkins. The ensemble cast includes Theo James, Tatiana Maslany, Elijah Wood, Colin O’Brien, Rohan Campbell, and Sarah Levy. The film is produced by James Wan, Michael Clear, Jason Cloth, and Dave Caplan. Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Fred Berger, Chris Ferguson, Peter Luo, Nancy Xu, and John Friedberg are serving as executive producers. It hails from Atomic Monster, Stars Collective, and Black Bear International, with C2 Motion Picture Group financing the project.
