Illumination releases a brand-new trailer for the Despicable Me prequel movie, Minions: The Rise of Gru. The film shows the origin story of how the loveable titular supervillain met the Minions and their face-off against the villainous supergroup known as the Vicious 6. The Rise of Gru features an ensemble voice cast led by Steve Carell, who reprises his role as Gru. He's joined by Taraji P. Henson, Michelle Yeoh, Julie Andrews, Alan Arkin, and more.
The Minions: The Rise of Gru trailer from Illumination puts the spotlight on the cute yellow creatures and their over-the-top antics as they fight for 12-year-old Gru. Supported by music producer Jack Antonoff's '70s-themed soundtrack, the trailer begins with the Minions flying a plane to San Francisco in what turns out to be a turbulent yet humorous sequence as they use an adaptive approach to fly the jet.
