The Masked Singer was not prepared for all the safety concerns that came along with the Hydra costume or some of the changes they would have to make to protect the secret celebrity inside. Ahead of the season 7 premiere, the show revealed photos of the three-headed monster costume to get fans excited for the upcoming season of The Masked Singer. The purple and green dragon-like costume also has three legs and will likely conceal the identity of more than one celebrity due to its large size. The costume could likely follow in the footsteps of the Russian Doll from season 5, which concealed boy band Hanson, and the Snow Owls from The Masked Singer season 4, who was revealed to be country music duo Clint Black and Lisa Hartman Black.
Hydra was inspired by Greek mythology and will be making their Masked Singer debut during episode 4. Host Nick Cannon teased the contestant's arrival during episode 3, which featured a double-elimination. Firefly, Cyclops and Thingamabob went head-to-head to see who would be the winner of Group A and compete in the show's finale. While all the contestants blew the audience members and panelists away, Firefly was the lucky contestant who made it through, while Cyclops and Thingamabob had to say goodbye to their time on the show. Luckily, fans were excited to see which celebrities were hiding behind the costumes. However, panelists were surprised to see none of their guesses were correct when Cyclops was revealed as Lost actor Jorge Garcia and Thingamabob as Jordan Mailata.
