As of this writing, Western Falcom fans have only just gotten our hands on Trails from Zero, some 11 years after its Japanese debut. But the tale of Lloyd Bannings and his Special Support Section is a two-game package, with the direct sequel, Trails to Azure, en route to the West fairly soon.

Since many of us are wrapping up the first part of Crossbell's epic adventure and champing at the bit for what's next, we thought it would be handy to know the rewards for transferring game clear data from Zero to Azure. It's not a lot, but it's enough to forge a solid start as the saga continues.
While we will avoid getting overly specific, some of this might be construed as minor spoilers for Trails from Zero and even Trails to Azure. We're pretty confident none of this will bother most readers, but if you're especially against knowing even gameplay mechanics, you've been warned!
Throughout Trails from Zero, you can help Lloyd gain affection points with all three of his main companions. Choices you make on who to take with you during certain plot beats, as well as how many times you've utilized their Combo Crafts and so forth, has a direct effect on who shows up during an emotional endgame scene.
Trails to Azure takes this mechanic significantly further by including over a dozen characters from not just that game's (more expanded!) battle party, but other important figures as well. Aiming to view as many of this sequel's own special endgame scenes means doing lots of legwork, and some of it for Elie, Tio, and Randy can be alleviated by transferring up to three affection points for each of them from Zero into Azure. Neat.
