The Last Worker focuses on humanity's uphill struggle against increasing automation in everyday life and the job market. When humans and natural life are considered less valuable than machines who cannot make mistakes and don't need paychecks, organic life must face its inevitable obsolescence. Players control Kurt, the last human worker at Jüngle, a (not-so-subtle) dystopian parallel of Amazon. Despite working at the company for over 25 years, a malfunctioning assistant droid called Skew restarts his career from Day 1. However, as players re-navigate through Kurt's «first day» it quickly becomes apparent that something in the facility has gone wrong, with the autonomous workforce suddenly far more hostile than usual.
