The Last of Us Pre-Load Begins Today
The era of remakes, remasters, and reimaginings is very much in full swing. It's a grand old time for horror fans as well, with the likes of the System Shock remake due out at some point, not to mention Dead Space and Resident Evil 4 fast approaching. On top of this is The Last of Us Part 1, which has also been given the remake treatment. This iteration is due out on PS5 next Friday, and in preparation, the game will begin pre-loading onto consoles on August 26.
Naughty Dog Central, an account that specializes in news and updates in relation to the developer, posted on Twitter that pre-loads for the game will begin on August 26. An image attached to the tweet shows that the remake of The Last of Us will begin auto-downloading at any moment, though there's no indication of exactly what time it will begin rolling out. There's no current indication on how much storage it will take up either, but one user on Twitter says it will be a 70 GB download, which falls in line with previous expectations.

While some may question why a game that's less than a decade old is getting remade, especially when remastered versions are already currently available, many will no doubt be excited to see what Naughty Dog has done to improve its celebrated post-apocalyptic title. The Last of Us also dropped its launch trailer recently, which shows a number of pretty violent sequences, including a grim interrogation scene. In general, it looks like the studio has put a lot of love into improving the visual and audio aspects of its popular game.
