In this section of The Last of Us Part 1, Joel and Ellie arrive in Jackson, Wyoming following the tragic events of the previous chapter. Joel explains to Ellie that he aims to find his estranged brother, who players will not have seen since the Prologue, in the hopes that he can help them track down the Fireflies as he used to be part of their cause. Sooner than either expected, Joel is reunited with Tommy and meets his sister-in-law, Maria. The pair of them have built a community of survivors, using the hydroelectric dam as their base of operations and plan to get electricity in people’s homes.
However, 20 years is a long time, and players will come to realize that Joel and Tommy’s relationship is still strained, and there is conflict ahead and trust to be rebuilt among the group. As this chapter focuses on driving the story forward and developing the characters further, there are not nearly as many artifacts to find as in previous sections. Nevertheless, here is where players can find the artifacts in the seventh chapter, Tommy’s Dam.
Tommy's Importance in The Last of Us
Before heading into the hydroelectric plant, players can find a small shack outside next to a sign that reads Jackson County Hydro Dam Reservoir. Inside this outbuilding is a corkboard with the power plant map affixed to it. Additionally, if players missed it earlier in the chapter, the El Diablo will also be available to collect here.
Tommy will lead players to the control room after Maria receives a call about the turbine test, providing a chance for players to see more of the dam and allowing Joel and Tommy to have a brief catch up with one another. Outside the control room will be Buckley the guard dog, although even he doesn’t see what’s coming next.
