One of the highlights of The Future Games Show event was a new trailer for The Last Faith, which is a gorgeous upcoming Metroidvania that resembles Bloodborne.The Last Faith was originally funded on Kickstarter in 2020, raising over £200,000 over the course of its fundraising period.
There have been many attempts at making 2D Soulslike/Metroidvania games in the modern era, with perhaps the most famous being titles like Blasphemous and Salt & Sanctuary. There are also lots of Metroidvanias that have a gothic atmosphere, thanks to the pivotal role that Castlevania: Symphony of the Night played in creating the genre. These include titles like Ender Lilies, which leans into the gothic aesthetic. This means that there are plenty of Metroidvanias that resemble Bloodborne more than Dark Souls, as it had a much more gothic atmosphere than the dark fantasy worlds of the Dark Souls trilogy.

The Future Games Show featured a brand new trailer for The Last Faith, which is an upcoming 2D pixel art Soulslike that bears a strong resemblance to Bloodborne and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. The Kickstarter-funded game is now being published by Playstack, with a planned launch on PC and consoles sometime in 2022.
