The Kaito Files, a four-chapter story expansion for Lost Judgment, will launch for Xbox and PlayStation consoles later this month.
The DLC, which will see players take control of Masaharu Kaito, rather than Lost Judgment protagonist Takayuki Yagami, will be released on March 28 priced at £29.99 / $29.99.
Players who’ve purchased the game’s season pass or Ultimate Edition will get the expansion at no extra cost.
“Following the events of Lost Judgment, Kaito picks up a lucrative case while Yagami is out of town that unexpectedly has him searching for his old flame, Mikiko. Along the way, Kaito encounters Jun, a teenager claiming to be their son, and team up to uncover the truth behind Mikiko’s disappearance,” Sega says.
“Now Kaito stands at the crossroads of past and present while up against a syndicate tied to Kamurocho’s criminal underbelly. But why did Kaito and Mikiko split up, and what does this dark faction have to do with her?”
It’s currently unknown if the DLC will feature Judgment and Lost Judgment protagonist Takayuki Yagami. A report last year claimed Lost Judgment could be the final game in the series due to issues with the actor who plays the character.
Japanese showbiz news site Nikkan Taishu claimed to have heard that Kimura’s talent agency Johnny & Associates had been blocking PC versions of games in the Judgment series because they didn’t want Kimura to appear in PC titles.
The report claimed Sega had been trying to bring Judgment and Lost Judgment to Steam, but because the agency is blocking this from happening it may draw a line under the series after Lost Judgment.
